			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have a quick sec and I’m here at a Starbucks writing this out before I go check out Clash of the Titans in 3D!</p>
<p>What happened this morning while teaching my favorite cycle class at 24 Hour Fitness La Mirada?</p>
<p>Magic.</p>
<p>And I got to see it unfold, it was awesome.</p>
<p>Here’s exactly how it happened:</p>
<p>1.	I set the tone as all GREAT instructors know how to do. (Oh you haven’t heard yet&#8212;I am great? Psssssssh&#8212;I’m Wonder Woman, yes, really).<br />
2.	Shoulder blades were pulled back<br />
3.	They were pushed down into their back pockets<br />
4.	Bellies were tight<br />
5.	Pelvic cores were engaged<br />
6.	Wrists were straight and firm<br />
7.	Lights went out<br />
8.	Music rolled<br />
9.	Everybody was in</p>
<p>Each Friday we create the environment of challenge, determination and intensity to rival the best cycle student to the first time novice.</p>
<p>Everybody can play. There is no fear in my classes, because we welcome, we embrace the knowledge that accomplishment is eminent. </p>
<p>No questions asked.</p>
<p>And that knowledge swims around the entire room like magic as we ride up the imaginary hills, through the valleys of endurance while we sprinkle speed traps here and there.</p>
<p>All is under a controlled resistance, patterned breathing, and “we can rest later.”</p>
<p>The magic is in the people.</p>
<p>We are made of 100% electric energy.</p>
<p>And they know it.</p>
<p>They come to the best class on the planet. How do I know?</p>
<p>Because they keep coming. </p>
<p>They don’t have to.</p>
<p>Some even pay to reserve their spot 3 weeks at a time.</p>
<p>The attendance to the class SAYS it’s the best cycle class on the planet.</p>
<p>And they expect to come and receive the challenge, feel the fear leave as soon as it showed up, and BE the visual that is given them be it the freedom a horse feels while charging open field with its mane waving in the wind, the freedom &amp; relief a de-cluttered space gives or the freedom that believing in one’s self to leave mediocrity behind and reach for the higher places and perch  gifts to us, the freedom is there.</p>
<p>They reach for it.</p>
<p>They strive for it.</p>
<p>They hunt for it.</p>
<p>They do not surrender.</p>
<p>But I cannot make them do it.</p>
<p>I wish I could, but that’s not up to me&#8212;is it?</p>
<p>The magic is when they choose.</p>
<p>When they choose to put their ego aside. (You know, that thing that allows fear to creep in by using phrases like, “I can’t do it,” “I can’t take another gear are you kidding,” “you want me to what??”).</p>
<p>When they choose to ride to be free.</p>
<p>Free in their thoughts.</p>
<p>Free in their hearts.</p>
<p>When they choose to BE free in that higher place.</p>
<p>And then everybody is riding on the back of the magic swirling around the room.</p>
<p>Powerful.</p>
<p>Their choice is what makes it so powerful.</p>
<p>You can choose this same power, and you don’t even have to come to class, (although that would be cool!).</p>
<p>Choosing you, ownership of you is where the power lies.</p>
<p>Without excuses.</p>
<p>Without fear.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Okay really, this is the deal that most people won’t tell you, but I will.</p>
<p>A “trick” to marketing is learning how to connect with people at a core level.</p>
<p>Eh?</p>
<p>Yeah like:</p>
<p>•	Want to please the parents<br />
•	Want to be accepted among society</p>
<p>These are 2 easy ones that can go a ton of places, here’s how.</p>
<p>•	As a man, you do not want to be a “disappointment” to your father. You’ve heard it enough through life and no matter how painful each occurrence of “son, you are a disappointment to me” is, the son still wants the approval of the father for something that he found really cool.<br />
•	To be accepted among society can mean you shop only at Nordstroms. Maybe you’re fierce about making your holiday purchases online from only Allen Brothers catalog, then hire a staff to prepare your gourmet holiday feast for 12 to the tune of 5,000.00, and when your friends compliment you on the fabulous meal you tell them “Oh yeah I only buy from Allen Brothers, they are the BEST.”</p>
<p>These are just two examples, and I’d like to share another with you:</p>
<p>Lent.</p>
<p>The definition of Lent by answers.com:<br />

<p>In the Christian church, a period of penitential preparation for Easter, observed since apostolic times. Western churches once provided for a 40-day fast (excluding Sundays), in imitation of Jesus&#8217; fasting in the wilderness; one meal a day was allowed in the evening, and meat, fish, eggs, and butter were forbidden. These rules have gradually been relaxed, and only Ash Wednesday — the first day of Lent in Western Christianity, when the penitent traditionally have their foreheads marked with ashes — and Good Friday are now kept as Lenten fast days. Rules of fasting are stricter in the Eastern churches.</em></p>
<p>So for those who want to keep with their core values, they are choosing something to “give up,” something to “discipline” themselves to for 40 days. </p>
<p>Some choices I have heard:</p>
<p>•	Facebook<br />
•	Sweets after dinner (Thanks Val!)<br />
•	Television<br />
•	Starbucks (my question to them would be: “Does that mean you’re excluding ALL caffeine or just trips to Starbucks?”) C’mon guys….I gotta ask!</p>
<p>See the point? </p>
<p>People are choosing to give up something they have a habit for.</p>
<p>People are choosing a particular discipline to engage with for 40 days.</p>
<p>And it signifies a lot to that person.</p>
<p>It’s kind of like a “challenge”</p>
<p>What these disciplines will do is remind the person that they actually CAN have discipline for something they find valuable.</p>
<p>And I think that’s cool.</p>
<p>May share my truth &amp; purpose about this message?</p>

<p>Just 5 days (included with your already planned 40) that will truly give you a sense of: </p>
<p>•	“I made it”<br />
•	“I can be proud of myself”<br />
•	“I did it”<br />
•	“There’s now something I can truly be proud of ”<br />
•	“I earned this one”</p>
<p>…and you’ll do it in 5 days.</p>

<p>“Jack in the Box was the closet thing”</p>
<p>“I can’t afford it”</p>
<p>“If I just had a …. (you fill it in)…&#8230;I’d be a better person.”</p>
<p>Excuses are great, yeah really they are! They are the greatest enablers of what you call the “lifestyle” that fits you.</p>
<p>They will create anything you choose to believe in.</p>
<p>They will also push you to BE more, DO more and HAVE more.</p>
<p>And that “more” goes in any direction you choose! </p>
<p>And there’s nothing wrong with that.</p>
<p>LIVE I say!</p>
<p>Live your life in the comfort of over spending.</p>
<p>Live your life in the comfort of “My girlfriend didn’t make me dinner so I went to Tommy’s.”</p>
<p>Live your life in the comfort of complacency.</p>
<p>Live your life in the comfort of diving into Flamin Hot Cheetos and <a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/flamin-hot-cheetos.gif"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/flamin-hot-cheetos.gif?w=107&h=150" alt="" title="flamin hot cheetos" width="107" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-874" /></a>tequila!</p>
<p>Live, period.</p>

<p>“I’m going to die anyway so screw it,” you say.</p>
<p>Sweet.</p>
<p>It’s like when you’re out with friends who drink too much and you’re telling them, “stop drinking, stop drinking,” and all they do it get belligerent. </p>
<p>Nah, I say “here, have another double.” It’ll make them pass out and then they won’t want to fight anymore. Call the cops, let em get locked up, released on O.R., and that relieves you of babysitting them.</p>

<p>You cannot change their behavior, nor is it your duty to.</p>

4. Now is now. That&#8217;s Coaching 101.<br />
5. There is shipping time involved, remember that when planning for absolute success.<br />
6. Self-sabotage sucks.<br />
7. Quit it already.</p>

<p>We hang around doing the same thing or even better, discounting ourselves for reasons we believe are serving us, (generally excuses), and mainly because we just haven&#8217;t taken a good look OR 100% responsibility FOR ourselves.</p>
<p>I’ve taken 55 things from the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. Check out these &#8220;reasons&#8221; and excuses for not reaching for the absolute best you could possibly be. </p>

They are a fabulous part of life, they&#8217;re going to continually bless us with sharing and family&#8230;..and can become a repeated excuse to &#8220;let it all go&#8221; because the Holidays &#8220;gave you permission&#8221; to do so.</p>
<p>Let’s take a look: </p>
<p>1.	Thanksgiving prep is underway!<br />
2.	Relatives are comin.<br />
3.	Meeting the new boyfriends/girlfriends for the first time (awkward as HELL I mean, the first meeting and you’re the newbie and get left all alone with the family’s drunk uncle? Oh yes, when I was a new girlfriend it happened to me.  So………we went high class all the way, it was a bud night&#8211;from the can!) <a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/budweiser_can2.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/budweiser_can2.jpg?w=146&h=150" alt="" title="budweiser_can2" width="146" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-674" /></a></p>
<p>4.	Food is everywhere and your mom begs you to help clean something, but you escape and go play across the street, and I almost died that day, I didn’t get one toe out the door are you kidding?<br />

<p>5.	People start arriving and all the “OMG you’re getting so big” comments fly. By the way, I don’t think I ever really received that<a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/funsize.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/funsize.jpg?w=462" alt="" title="funsize"   class="alignright size-full wp-image-675" /></a> comment. I mean, I’m 5’0 for chrissakes!<br />

6.	In goes the first piece of….whatever cause everything just looks sooooo good!<br />
7.	And the onslaught begins!<br />
8.	Pile on more……….everything and “don’t come back unless you bring a beer with it.” (Ummm, how does one eat like a cow AND drink beer? I get too full which is why I choose Grey Goose Orange straight up. No bloat, can eat more. Ahem).<br />
9.	FOOD COMA!<br />
10.	Wake up to the football game and screaming people, (and to the sound of somebody opening another beer), so you get up believing there’s still one cubic centimeter to shovel in some more.<br />
11.	Kinda like “well its Thanksgiving I deserve MORE food,” like what, you’re never going to eat again….ever?<br />
12.	So you do.<br />
13.	Pants ready to rip (even though you deliberately wore stretch).<br />
14.	Walking around, or I mean SWISHING around desperately in search of comfort and relief of the pressure on you belly just waiting to burst- -<br />
15.	And you find comfort….in another slice of pie, but this time ala mode.<br />
16.	Wishing you hadn’t deserved that last piece of death on a leash you contemplate another coma saying, “Maybe I’ll feel better when I wake up.”<br />
17.	Thanksgiving was a blast! Family. Food. Fun.<br />
18. 19.	New Year shows up (like you had no idea it was coming), and you&#8217;re feeling guilty at the 15lbs you happily gained (and let&#8217;s remember, it&#8217;s the Holidays&#8217; fault),<br />
20.	Ahhhh incomes the deliberate stance for breeding and nurturing stress over the 15lbs resulting in creating the fat cells to get bigger, (stress triggers fat cells to get bigger to protect you—nice huh?).<br />
21.	And now gotta dig out of a bigger hole due to procrastination on the New Year&#8217;s Resolution.<br />
22.	 All the while the guilt is making you eat more, and what do you know, spring is already here and what you had planned to do went to the wayside.<br />
23.	“God I feel like shit.”<br />
24.	Awww “screw it” you say, “I still have a couple months till summer, and I’ll get the weight off.”<br />
25.	“WOW I didn’t know summer was here already,” you say in absolute amazement.<br />
26.	“I hate shopping for swimsuits.”<br />
27.	“But I have a wedding in July, I have more time.”<br />
28.	I better wear that one black dress I have; it’s my “fat <a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/black.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/black.jpg?w=86&h=150" alt="" title="black" width="86" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-676" /></a> dress.” Black is slimming.<br />
29.	“Why did I wait so long to get anything done?”<br />
30.	I’ll wait till the kids go back to school and then get back on my routine. (By the way, you haven’t created one but thought you did by planning to do so without action. “BUT I <em>THOUGHT</em> ABOUT IT ! DON’T I GET POINTS FOR THAT,” you say?).<br />
31.	Back to school: “I’m exhausted, I can’t exercise today, I’ll start after I get back into back to school groove.”<br />
32.	“NO WAY it’s Halloween? Aww no problem! It’s the first official day of the holiday celebration and now I’m FREE again to eat whatever till the New Year!”<br />
33.	“New Years Eve-I’ll wear that black dress AGAIN; it’s the only thing that fits me.”<br />
34.	“I worthless.”<br />
35.	“HAPPY NEW YEAR………..”<br />
36.	“What’s so happy about it? I’m now 30 lbs heavier-I gained 30 lbs in two years?! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!?”<br />
37.	“I can’t do anything right.”<br />
38.	“Okay, January 5th I’m goin back to the gym.”<br />

41.	“But they said they aren’t coming today. I guess I’ll stay home and wait till they can pick me up and then we’ll go together. (I can’t believe they cancelled; now I can’t get a workout).”<br />
42.	“I’m fat, unattractive and nobody is ever going to love me.”<br />
43.	“Spring?” Psssssssssshh. Summer’s coming. When the kids are out of school I’ll have more time to work out.<br />
44.	Ooooh-quick diet! Starve for 30 days on some crap juice losing my muscle tone leaving my arms to the easy task of: weathervane! <p><em>&#8220;Yes, it is a miracle that I lost weight on RESET, 6 pounds to be exact, because seriously I have been in a plateau with my weight for two years&#8230;that&#8217;s right I said it 2 years!!!  I have changed my exercise routine, tried not to eat junk and increased my fiber intake, I started running&#8230;miles (which I thought I would hate and never imagined doing when I used to weigh over 200lbs.. a lot has changed since then).  Nothing has helped or made a shift except the RESET. <p><em>&#8220;I starting this Usana cleanse thinking &#8220;I love food too much what the hell am I doing to my body&#8221;. This first day (Monday) I was scare, apprehensive and eager to get through the day. I had plans to go to a concert that night with friends and while they were eating buffalo wings and drinking beer there I was with my chocolate shake, veggies and strawberries. After that night I thought, &#8221; Hell yeah, I can do this&#8221;. </p>
<p>Ready to tackle another day, life happened and my car broke down which left me feeling frustrated and not wanting to go through with the USANA cleanse because I knew that I could not attend my normal work out classes. </p>
<p>After I got to work that day I read the e-mails Annette sent giving support and guidance which helped me realized that I have to think about myself and not worry about what happens around me, cuz that will never change. <p>In 3 steps, allow me to share.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>RESET has done it again, given another good person the belief in herself- -along with belly fat loss. We chose to do the last RESET Challenge before Halloween and check this out below. </p>
<p>Does it get any better? </p>
<p><em>I lost 5 lbs.  I started off at 167 and by sat morning I was 162 and I felt it&#8230;I was nervous going into this challenge because I knew in the past I have failed.  I didn&#8217;t want to fail again and kept building myself up for it.  I do not really have the support here in my house.  The first day was the hardest however once the 1st day was gone, I know I was able to do this.  2nd day, 3rd and 4th day was not a problem as I knew I was accomplishing something I haven&#8217;t done in long time. </p>
<p>My body to this day still feels great.  Halloween I did fall off track but I&#8217;m back on it on Monday using the shakes I have left and eating the low glycemic meals as  stated in the booklet. I just want to thank you Annette, with your push and motivation it helped me get through this and still motivates me to continue.  I love the USANA products and plan on keep using them. </p>
<p>OHHHHHH and last thing, you know how I didn&#8217;t have the support at home as I thought? I was wrong. My boyfriend supported me throughout this whole challenge. In fact, my entire family supported me.
