			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Okay really, this is the deal that most people won’t tell you, but I will.</p>
<p>A “trick” to marketing is learning how to connect with people at a core level.</p>
<p>Eh?</p>
<p>Yeah like:</p>
<p>•	Want to please the parents<br />
•	Want to be accepted among society</p>
<p>These are 2 easy ones that can go a ton of places, here’s how.</p>
<p>•	As a man, you do not want to be a “disappointment” to your father. You’ve heard it enough through life and no matter how painful each occurrence of “son, you are a disappointment to me” is, the son still wants the approval of the father for something that he found really cool.<br />
•	To be accepted among society can mean you shop only at Nordstroms. Maybe you’re fierce about making your holiday purchases online from only Allen Brothers catalog, then hire a staff to prepare your gourmet holiday feast for 12 to the tune of 5,000.00, and when your friends compliment you on the fabulous meal you tell them “Oh yeah I only buy from Allen Brothers, they are the BEST.”</p>
<p>These are just two examples, and I’d like to share another with you:</p>
<p>Lent.</p>
<p>The definition of Lent by answers.com:<br />

Lent </p>
<p>In the Christian church, a period of penitential preparation for Easter, observed since apostolic times. Western churches once provided for a 40-day fast (excluding Sundays), in imitation of Jesus&#8217; fasting in the wilderness; one meal a day was allowed in the evening, and meat, fish, eggs, and butter were forbidden. These rules have gradually been relaxed, and only Ash Wednesday — the first day of Lent in Western Christianity, when the penitent traditionally have their foreheads marked with ashes — and Good Friday are now kept as Lenten fast days. Rules of fasting are stricter in the Eastern churches.</em></p>
<p>So for those who want to keep with their core values, they are choosing something to “give up,” something to “discipline” themselves to for 40 days. </p>
<p>Some choices I have heard:</p>
<p>•	Facebook<br />
•	Sweets after dinner (Thanks Val!)<br />
•	Television<br />
•	Starbucks (my question to them would be: “Does that mean you’re excluding ALL caffeine or just trips to Starbucks?”) C’mon guys….I gotta ask!</p>
<p>See the point? </p>
<p>People are choosing to give up something they have a habit for.</p>
<p>People are choosing a particular discipline to engage with for 40 days.</p>
<p>And it signifies a lot to that person.</p>
<p>It’s kind of like a “challenge”</p>
<p>What these disciplines will do is remind the person that they actually CAN have discipline for something they find valuable.</p>
<p>And I think that’s cool.</p>
<p>May share my truth &amp; purpose about this message?</p>

<p>Just 5 days (included with your already planned 40) that will truly give you a sense of: </p>
<p>•	“I made it”<br />
•	“I can be proud of myself”<br />
•	“I did it”<br />
•	“There’s now something I can truly be proud of ”<br />
•	“I earned this one”</p>
<p>…and you’ll do it in 5 days.</p>

<p>1.	Those of you giving up the chocolate, caffeine and sugar will have absolutely NO problem finishing the 40 days off of sugar after the short 5 that RESET provides. Why?<br />
a.	Because RESET removes the cravings FOR the sugar!!<br />
b.	Your system “resets” itself and you’re SO good to go!</p>
<p>2.	The habit that you have already chosen to implement- -for FORTY days- &#8211; will be enhanced with the 5 days RESET provides.</p>

4. Now is now. That&#8217;s Coaching 101.<br />
5. There is shipping time involved, remember that when planning for absolute success.<br />
6. Self-sabotage sucks.<br />
7. Quit it already.</p>

<p>It’s one of my favorite songs (or tracks as we call them) from the hundreds we instructors have for the weightlifting format we teach called Body Pump.</p>
<p>So what’s the “one step away?”</p>
<p>It’s you. </p>

<p>The person who wants to prove yourself right, about you.</p>
<p>To prove to yourself that you ARE someone special.</p>
<p>That you DO deserve bigger and better.</p>
<p>To actually live, breathe and expect bigger things to happen to you and for you because of you because of the belief <em>in</em> you.<a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/steps4.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/steps4.jpg?w=150&h=99" alt="" title="steps4" width="150" height="99" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-773" /></a></p>
<p>One step away, and then another, and then another, until you reach the goal. And when that goal is reached, there’s another one waiting.</p>
<p>It’s waiting patiently, for you, to come and meet it, smile, give it a big hug and thrive in the sheer joy of reaching it<br />
And then off to the next goal because it too is just one step away.</p>

<p>Yeah you know, that thing you constantly think, think, think about, wish upon a star about, hope it comes around, think some more about it, and then some more&#8230;&#8230;</p>
<p>And then it fizzles and dies and then the &#8220;thought&#8221; process repeats&#8230;&#8230;</p>
<p>Think, think, think, wish, hope, think, think, think. Fizzle.<a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/think-tank.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/think-tank.jpg?w=150&h=150" alt="" title="think-tank" width="150" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-757" /></a></p>
<p>You can&#8217;t get any project off the ground by thought alone, right?</p>
<p>What do you think would have happened if Oprah sat on her thoughts of &#8220;one day&#8221; becoming a talk show host, multi-GO-zillionare?</p>
<p>Or if  Larry Page and Sergey Brin had sat on their thoughts of creating Google?</p>
<p>What if your infant (by the way babies have an AWESOME amount of &#8216;do&#8217; power), only thought of standing and walking while continued to crawl forever?</p>
<p>These examples above have one thing in common: they WERE thoughts of course but&#8230;..</p>
<p>ACTION followed.</p>

<p>And your infants-did they end up walking? Yes they <em>did</em> and why?</p>

<p>Jeeeez!!</p>
<p>We hang around doing the same thing or even better, discounting ourselves for reasons we believe are serving us, (generally excuses), and mainly because we just haven&#8217;t taken a good look OR 100% responsibility FOR ourselves.</p>
<p>I’ve taken 55 things from the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. Check out these &#8220;reasons&#8221; and excuses for not reaching for the absolute best you could possibly be. </p>

<p>I want you to find the inspiration within yourselves and create the change you true desire is begging for. </p>
<p>Results are there for the taking.</p>
<p>The consistency sits there and BEGS you to use it.</p>
<p>And in the land of excellence there is no “try.” <em>“I’ll try to get it done.” “I’ll try again and ‘see what happens’.”</em><br />
Excuse me, you’ll “try?”</p>
<p>“Try” leaves allowance for quitting.</p>
<p>You simply “do.” That’s why Nike makes such a killing on their slogan “Just Do It.” How much stuff would they sell with the slogan, ”I’m gonna try it”?</p>
<p>You want different results, then the behavior also has to be different.</p>

<p>Well in sharing with people about it, there&#8217;s a consistent hesitation that people have about engaging in 5 days that can literally change your life for you.</p>
<p>So I asked why the hesitation, and here&#8217;s what I got:</p>
<p>1. I can&#8217;t afford it.<br />
2. Its too hard<br />
3. I don&#8217;t think I could live up to it.</p>
<p>So basically what they&#8217;re saying is:</p>
<p>1. &#8220;I won&#8217;t make a decision to better myself, I&#8217;m afraid.&#8221;  <img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/fear.gif?w=150&h=115" alt="fear" title="fear" width="150" height="115" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-635" /><br />

<p>Whoa.<br />

<p>You see, the ones who take immediate action are the ones who fire, ready, aim..</p>
<p>And I&#8217;ve had a few who HAVE acted in this manner-and have succeeded only to be living a life they truly believed to be possible through a little adjusting and moving in a positive direction.</p>
<p>So, how do you &#8220;switch off&#8221; that little voice that really is a thundering roar that says:</p>
<p>&#8220;I won&#8217;t make a decision to better myself.&#8221;</p>
<p>(Which means if there&#8217;s no decision made, there&#8217;s no chance of &#8216;messing up&#8217; which equals no action thus, no accountability).</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not good enough.&#8221;</p>
<p>(Which means you do not believe you deserve to be do and have whatever you want).</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m  gonna fail.&#8221;</p>
<p>(Which means there are limiting belief systems you carry and hold unto yourself).</p>
<p>How do you switch it off?<img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/lightswitch.png?w=96&h=150" alt="lightswitch" title="lightswitch" width="96" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-642" /></p>
<p>In 3 steps, allow me to share.</p>
<p>1. Take immediate action to hear yourself saying these things in your own head. Recognize it. </p>
<p>2. Once you do recognize it (because many of us go throughout our day breathing the negativity into our systems where it becomes no natural, it slips into the subconscious), then you can immediately reverse that thought process into something positive. Something like this:</p>
<p>• &#8220;I can&#8217;t afford it, Its too hard, I don&#8217;t think I could live up to it.&#8221;</p>
<p>The reversal:</p>
<p>• &#8220;I may not feel like I can do this, I&#8217;m only creating more attention to what I believe I can&#8217;t do. I am better than that. I can cut a few meals out per week and  create the way to afford it. I will hold myself with an integrity higher than I&#8217;m used to because I want change, and it doesn&#8217;t matter what anybody else  thinks, says or does. I deserve what I want.&#8221;</p>
<p>(The more energy placed on negativity, more energy of that nature you&#8217;ll get, and vice versa).</p>
<p>3. Remember that there is no &#8220;try.&#8221; Try still leaves a back door-a place to run out if you think you need it. <em>&#8220;I&#8217;m gonna try it and see how I do.&#8221;</em> There&#8217;s still doubt there.</p>

<p>Do this every single time you hear the noise goin off in your head- you&#8217;ll be amazed at how many times you&#8217;ll be rerouting the thought process.</p>
<p>Those who are successful-in anything-know this and act on it.</p>
<p>I have mentioned the word &#8220;action&#8221; a few times here&#8230;.and that is the key.</p>
<p>Act</p>
<p>Too much thinking paralyzes the brain.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>RESET has done it again, given another good person the belief in herself- -along with belly fat loss. We chose to do the last RESET Challenge before Halloween and check this out below. </p>
<p>Does it get any better? </p>
<p><em>I lost 5 lbs.  I started off at 167 and by sat morning I was 162 and I felt it&#8230;I was nervous going into this challenge because I knew in the past I have failed.  I didn&#8217;t want to fail again and kept building myself up for it.  I do not really have the support here in my house.  The first day was the hardest however once the 1st day was gone, I know I was able to do this.  2nd day, 3rd and 4th day was not a problem as I knew I was accomplishing something I haven&#8217;t done in long time. </p>
<p>My body to this day still feels great.  Halloween I did fall off track but I&#8217;m back on it on Monday using the shakes I have left and eating the low glycemic meals as  stated in the booklet. I just want to thank you Annette, with your push and motivation it helped me get through this and still motivates me to continue.  I love the USANA products and plan on keep using them. </p>
<p>OHHHHHH and last thing, you know how I didn&#8217;t have the support at home as I thought? I was wrong. My boyfriend supported me throughout this whole challenge. In fact, my entire family supported me.  I feel like I can accomplish anything.<img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/ydi.jpg?w=211&h=300" alt="YDI" title="YDI" width="211" height="300" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-598" /></p>

<p>I wanted to first off say THANK YOU for your unparalleled support and leadership.  I was lucky; my husband and kids &amp; my friends were totally rooting for me. But really, I needed someone in the trenches, not just someone&#8217;s good wishes&#8230;.I needed reinforcement that I was doing something bold, someone who understood that I was committing to changing me, not just dieting.  </p>
<p>I knew EVERY day that you were putting in the thought and dedication that I was. Your coaching, your constant belief and positive energy was my fuel. I would log on every morning for your e-mail and I would use it every day, chew on it, think it over and then LIVE IT. You really do have an amazing gift for inspiring people to give their best, each and every time. BECAUSE WE CAN. I say that in my head all the time now&#8230;it&#8217;s my mantra&#8230;..BECAUSE I CAN. </p>
<p>Thank you for seeing me struggle and for giving me the straight up truth. I can work my body hard, but if I am not fueling it right, I am spinning my wheels. Everyone else just kept telling me I was doing great, keep it up, same old stuff. But I knew I could be BETTER. No one else saw that of me. But you did- you saw it. The constant flow of information, reminders &amp; suggestions you provided really cemented for me that this is a change I want, a change I needed, a change I can maintain. </p>
<p>The program was so easy to follow. I felt strong, I felt satisfied, I didn&#8217;t ever feel like I was depriving my body. On the contrary, I felt like I was nurturing myself.  Also, it really helped to know what to expect. The Pre-chalIenge coaching helped so much in that way! I was able to stock the vegetables and fruit I needed so it was ready on hand. </p>
<p>I never went hungry. </p>
<p>It enabled me to prepare my family, too- I knew it was going to be hard to be still making meals for everyone else &amp; not partaking. But it wasn&#8217;t as hard as I expected. I made sure I wasn&#8217;t ever hungry when I was preparing their meals, so it was no big deal. I have a new understanding of the food we are eating and I can use what I have learned to benefit my whole family.<br />
I never had an upset stomach, no emergency bathroom issues! I know that was a fear, happily unfounded! I did have a dull headache the first 2 evenings, not unbearable and it actually went away after working out both nights. Staying hydrated helped..water, water, water&#8230;..</p>
<p>The shakes and bars were yummy. By Thursday, I was feeling the benefits, the energy, I started getting excited because I could see IT WAS WORKING!!</p>
<p>5 1/2 pounds in 5 days! Gurrrrl, go on, I know!! Still, the best part for me, was waking up today and being excited to keep going, to keep feeling this way. I had that fear that I would wake up Saturday and just be dying to eat crap! But I didn&#8217;t, I didn&#8217;t want it and I didn&#8217;t think it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I was training a client yesterday, Sunday, (yeah I KNOW, out of my bed on a Sunday-my ONE day of rest where the most effort I put out is to get up and go pee, eat some more, and lean over to change the movie in my laptop), and I was thinking,</p>
<p>&#8220;Why am I here? Why am I doing this? And WHY am I actually &#8216;working out&#8217; with this client? My body is sore, I could be taking a hot bath (nah-too much work to fill up the tub!), I really need to foam roll and stretch, hmmm, I could be watchin a movie in bed while eating FRITOS! And instead I&#8217;m sweatin buckets while coaching a client AND doing the work side-by-side in a</p>
<p>• Run the bleachers<br />
• Drop and give me 50 power pushups<br />
• Stay down here and hang out in a 2-minute hover on the elbows<br />
• Move onto 25 jump squats<br />
• Jog 1 lap around the stadium<br />
• Repeat</p>
<p>&#8230;..on a SUNDAY?!*#@?&#8221;</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s why&#8211;because I can.</p>
<p>I thought I&#8217;d put my money where my mouth is, and DO what I encourage my classes &amp; clients to do, &#8220;get uncomfortable.&#8221; It’s time to put some hustle behind this muscle.</p>
<p><em>&#8220;Your body is MADE to do this kind of stuff, you&#8217;re fortunate to have the gene pool you have and you really have NO idea what you&#8217;ve got RIGHT HERE. You are whole, you have both legs and both arms-everything else can be worked with. I know how your body works, I know what will work for you, I can SEE it, all you need is a mirror, and look in it. Then look deeper-THAT&#8217;S the real you. Nothing new happens if nothing new is attempted. It doesn&#8217;t matter how good YOU think you&#8217;re doing, but it DOES matter that you finish what you start. Everybody can quit. What defines you is what you choose to create when the going gets tough. You gonna listen to the negative comments people will have or pursue your dreams and find the support where it serves you? You going to follow a particular path just because it’s always been that way or are you gonna change the story and change the direction of your pursuit?&#8221;</em></p>
<p>This is what I tell my classes ALL THE TIME while I see their struggle. They choose to turn the fear and struggle into a calm with themselves and this lights a fire to continue. They create new beliefs in themselves-in just an hour!</p>
<p>So I decided it was time to turn me on me!</p>
<p>I mean really, am I gonna trip and say &#8220;I can&#8217;t,&#8221; when miss Sarah Reinertsen is a one-legged triathlete? Psssh, who am &#8216;I&#8217; to say &#8220;I can&#8217;t?&#8221; I will create and find the way to keep myself trying to catch up to HER!!<img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/sarah.jpg?w=300&h=300" alt="OUT15276117" title="OUT15276117" width="300" height="300" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-550" /></p>
<p>This is why the Sunday client. I can step out and create a new platform of drive. I can create a new story. I can strive for greatness. I can jump into another level of mental toughness.</p>
<p>And I can create another &#8220;Sunday,&#8221; and do it on another day.</p>
<p>No, working on Sunday, my only day off, will not remain a constant, but it WILL spike other things. What things? Who knows, but difference creates difference, so I&#8217;m gonna head for that difference and keep moving ahead.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m calling you to the same kind of action.</p>
<p>Get uncomfortable.</p>
<p>The rewards are beyond what you can imagine if you haven&#8217;t ever chosen deliberate difference.</p>

<p>Oh you don&#8217;t think I know how you feel? Okay sure. I wasn&#8217;t ever fat, I wasn&#8217;t a bulimic either. I didn&#8217;t make myself suffer and lose 25lbs in one week then literally get sick over it. Nah. I&#8217;ve also never been asked &#8220;when I was due&#8221; and I wasn&#8217;t pregnant, never cried in a corner pissed off because nobody understood. I&#8217;ve never thrown myself a 60-day long pity party, (I was a rookie), I&#8217;ve never blamed EVERYBODY ELSE around me for my boo-hoo life, and I&#8217;ve never thought about suicide.</p>
<p>No, not me. I&#8217;m a &#8220;perfect&#8221; trainer. My life is candy and roses.</p>
<p>Psssh, you guys need to get over that thing already.</p>
