			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have a quick sec and I’m here at a Starbucks writing this out before I go check out Clash of the Titans in 3D!</p>
<p>What happened this morning while teaching my favorite cycle class at 24 Hour Fitness La Mirada?</p>
<p>Magic.</p>
<p>And I got to see it unfold, it was awesome.</p>
<p>Here’s exactly how it happened:</p>
<p>1.	I set the tone as all GREAT instructors know how to do. (Oh you haven’t heard yet&#8212;I am great? Psssssssh&#8212;I’m Wonder Woman, yes, really).<br />
2.	Shoulder blades were pulled back<br />
3.	They were pushed down into their back pockets<br />
4.	Bellies were tight<br />
5.	Pelvic cores were engaged<br />
6.	Wrists were straight and firm<br />
7.	Lights went out<br />
8.	Music rolled<br />
9.	Everybody was in</p>
<p>Each Friday we create the environment of challenge, determination and intensity to rival the best cycle student to the first time novice.</p>
<p>Everybody can play. There is no fear in my classes, because we welcome, we embrace the knowledge that accomplishment is eminent. </p>
<p>No questions asked.</p>
<p>And that knowledge swims around the entire room like magic as we ride up the imaginary hills, through the valleys of endurance while we sprinkle speed traps here and there.</p>
<p>All is under a controlled resistance, patterned breathing, and “we can rest later.”</p>
<p>The magic is in the people.</p>
<p>We are made of 100% electric energy.</p>
<p>And they know it.</p>
<p>They come to the best class on the planet. How do I know?</p>
<p>Because they keep coming. </p>
<p>They don’t have to.</p>
<p>Some even pay to reserve their spot 3 weeks at a time.</p>
<p>The attendance to the class SAYS it’s the best cycle class on the planet.</p>
<p>And they expect to come and receive the challenge, feel the fear leave as soon as it showed up, and BE the visual that is given them be it the freedom a horse feels while charging open field with its mane waving in the wind, the freedom &amp; relief a de-cluttered space gives or the freedom that believing in one’s self to leave mediocrity behind and reach for the higher places and perch  gifts to us, the freedom is there.</p>
<p>They reach for it.</p>
<p>They strive for it.</p>
<p>They hunt for it.</p>
<p>They do not surrender.</p>
<p>But I cannot make them do it.</p>
<p>I wish I could, but that’s not up to me&#8212;is it?</p>
<p>The magic is when they choose.</p>
<p>When they choose to put their ego aside. (You know, that thing that allows fear to creep in by using phrases like, “I can’t do it,” “I can’t take another gear are you kidding,” “you want me to what??”).</p>
<p>When they choose to ride to be free.</p>
<p>Free in their thoughts.</p>
<p>Free in their hearts.</p>
<p>When they choose to BE free in that higher place.</p>
<p>And then everybody is riding on the back of the magic swirling around the room.</p>
<p>Powerful.</p>
<p>Their choice is what makes it so powerful.</p>
<p>You can choose this same power, and you don’t even have to come to class, (although that would be cool!).</p>
<p>Choosing you, ownership of you is where the power lies.</p>
<p>Without excuses.</p>
<p>Without fear.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Your big fat gut won’t go away, you’ve tried “everything,” (“OH YES I HAVE,” you say with conviction).  </p>
<p>And you’re going to fight me too with all 300 excuses and reasons with things you’ve tried:</p>
<p>Diet pills	Diet Gatorade<br />
Diet Coke	Diet Water<br />
Diet beer	Diet French fries (so the package said)<br />
Diet candy	Diet coffee<br />
Diet cheese	Diet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches<br />
Diet yogurt	Diet blueberry pancakes<br />
Diet pizza	Diet cosmetic surgery<br />
Diet bread	Diet vacationing<br />
Diet magazines	Diet face cream<br />
Diet Sketcher shape up shoes	 Diet cellulite cream<br />
Diet Spanx	Diet skinny jeans<br />

<p>….and I am positive you’ve experienced favorable results with these and the many other things you have tried.</p>
<p>So, what happened? Did you starve to fit in the wedding dress, get married and then decide it was time to blow up again?</p>
<p>Awesome.</p>

<p>Yes I understand.</p>
<p>You also have your friend to go walking with but it gets dark too early in the day and heaven forbid you get up before going to work to walk, (still dark, I get it). And what happened to taking clothes with you to work, or at least a pair of tennis shoes to walk in during lunch?</p>
<p>•	Oh I get it, you only get an hour for lunch and you have to go across the street to buy a lunch that will stick to your already complaining muffin top, and you’ll barely have enough time to eat by the time you get back. (Uh huh, I get it).<br />
•	No wait, you can’t because it’s too hot outside and you have to go back to work. (I get it, really).<br />
•	Oh hold on, what about going to the already planned, there for you THREE DAYS A WEEK, Pilates/strengthening class, that’s in your office building on the 3rd floor out of 6 floors total, that all you’ll need to do is walk over to it, that your employer is providing you—for FREE? (Yes, I provide some of this FREE training that you somehow can’t make it to).</p>
<p>Perhaps the gym membership is only “good” when your friend goes with you and if that friend doesn’t go with you………you can’t go because it’s just not that fun and perish the thought you grow some initiative and go on your own. (I see.)</p>
<p>Maybe you have  a gym membership but you regret buying it because only dummies work out in a “gym,” where you’d much rather exercise outside in the gorgeous elements and commune with nature, rocks, mud and lush green hills, and the smart money says it won’t cost you anything. But you haven’t taken one step outside in this effort because….because…. ummmmm.  (And you haven’t cancelled your gym membership yet. Yes, the gyms LOVE your kind. Just keep giving them your money in the “hope” that either you’ll go back one day or “just in case” you cannot get an outdoor workout in, you’ll actually use that god-forsaken membership. And you bought one for your significant other too). (Yeah, I hear ya).</p>
<p>And of course going to exercise, wherever, after work is absolutely impossible because you have kids, got to pick them up, make dinner, (a quick stop at Taco Bell), do homework, (that they do on your way to driving them to practice), get home, hope to say “boo” to your male OR female spouse (who never helps with the household chores OR carting kids anywhere), and pray to squeeze in some “me” time before it all begins again the next day. (Oh NOW I’m getting it).<a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/household.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/household.jpg?w=123&h=150" alt="" title="household" width="123" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-908" /></a></p>
<p>So let me get this straight:</p>
<p>You’re saying you have absolutely zero time- -ZERO time- &#8211; to get any kind of exercise in, period, and there’s NO POSSIBLE WAY that you can eat better because it costs too much, (but WOW are you willing to pay a few hundred bucks a month for the meds you can’t do without, but you really ‘could’ do without given clean food and exercise- -but we won’t go there), but instead send me emails on Facebook telling me your story of how you: </p>
<p>•	“Just can’t get it together.”<br />
•	“My doctor is putting me on meds.”<br />
•	“I have not been motivated to go to my gym. I have high blood pressure and love salt. So I know what I need to do, but I am scared to work out too hard. My eating is the big thing. I don’t know what to eat.”<br />
•	“Well I bought the treats for the kids and they didn’t like it so I HAD to eat it so as not to waste food.”<br />
•	“So by Saturday evening, my left knee didn&#8217;t feel too good. I babied it a little bit. By Sunday morning couldn&#8217;t hardly walk.. Went to the doctor&#8217;s and took X-rays and found out I have Arthritis in my left knee&#8230;It&#8217;s a lot, and probably in my other joints, but concentrated on just my knee for now..so, on meds, and still limping, feeling better, but now know my weight loss is a must&#8230; Any suggestions please let me know&#8230;.I can still exercise, just not as much hard impact and so many days&#8230;.Talk to u soon&#8230;”<br />
•	“I’m fully aware that I need to lose weight, I just….I just can’t seem to do it.”</p>
<p>…..and  still there’s hesitation to do what’s good for you.</p>
<p>Yup, I get it. <a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/i-understand.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/i-understand.jpg?w=150&h=140" alt="" title="i understand" width="150" height="140" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-909" /></a></p>
<p>“No Annette I don’t even have 10 minutes to do anything and besides, what the hell good is 10 minutes anyway?”</p>
<p>And my favorite: </p>
<p>“I can’t afford it.”</p>
<p>You’re always looking for a discount….because you believe you deserve it. </p>
<p>So you’re saying that I can also deliver discount services, correct? </p>
<p>I’ve heard it a million times too: “If somebody would just give me a handout, train me for free and see that I REALLY DO want to lose weight. Ohhh I wish I wish I wish that could happen to me. Can’t they see the real me? Can’t they see that I would do all the workouts they gave me and keep it forever?”</p>
<p>Deep breath.</p>
<p>So I’ve even catered to this mentality by offering free training. </p>
<p>For 6 weeks during the holidays I trained 6 people for FREE. I gave them their own meal plans for FREE. I gave them the best trainer tips, input, training strategies they could ever get, (because they told me that I did). <a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/free.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/free.jpg?w=150&h=104" alt="" title="free" width="150" height="104" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-910" /></a></p>
<p>Would you like to know what happened after the 6 weeks of training with me, 6 weeks of email coaching, exact structure of how, what and when to eat, after the constant encouragement of how to continue their progress AND I even threw in an added lifetime discount that would make you slap your forehead in amazement, ($3.46 per training)?</p>
<p>Here it comes.</p>
<p>Only 1 returned. </p>
<p>Their reasons are many to include “I can’t afford it” to “I was scared to come in after being gone for so long.”</p>
<p>And that’s okay, as long as you are comfortable with your choice/s.</p>
<p>Truth time.</p>
<p>You may not embrace this, and honestly, that’s your issue. </p>
<p>In a nutshell:</p>
<p>There’s nothing “wrong” with you. </p>
<p>What you’re looking for is a quick fix, a “wake up and the transformation will be there,” an instant gratification.</p>
<p>You’re lazy.</p>
<p>You’re afraid.</p>
<p>Earning isn’t in your vocabulary, self worth hasn’t been realized.</p>
<p>Stop being a puss.</p>
<p>You’ve tried “everything,” right?</p>
<p>Cool, so now do something different.</p>
<p><strong>INVEST in a coach</strong> because apparently everything you’ve done on your own hasn’t worked, right? </p>
<p>And do it for more than 5 minutes this time.</p>
<p><strong>INVEST your time</strong> because apparently (again), you HAVE done everything and it hasn’t worked, correct?</p>
<p>It is said a habit is built in 21 days. I say build a GREAT and LASTING habit. Take at least 3 months to do it, and if you feel you  need more time than that, take it. Prepare for it. Make a plan for it.</p>
<p><strong>Focus on the behavior, not the result.</strong></p>
<p>Pretty simple here, it’s the behavior. </p>
<p>Look at what you do and how you do it, and you’ll quickly see that you look like your behavior.</p>
<p>This creates accountability.</p>
<p>You can take the accountability in one of three ways:</p>
<p>1.	Self hate and throw a pity party. Hell, invite ALL your victim friends, it’ll be fun!<br />
2.	Say F it, I’m gonna die anyway. OR…..<br />
3.	Change the behavior</p>
<p>Who or what are you giving the power to?</p>
<p>Umm, why?</p>

<p><strong>FOCUS ON THE BEHAVIOR, NOT THE RESULT. </strong></p>
<p>The results are continually the side effect of the behavior.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Everyday occurrences continue to confirm something to me that I already knew. But it’s important for YOU to know this.</p>
<p>The economy is what you make it.<a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/wealth.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/wealth.jpg?w=150&h=150" alt="" title="wealth" width="150" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-706" /></a><br />

Cutting to the chase, I’d like to share about value.</p>
<p>I used to be in real estate. It was from 2000 to about 2004 or so, during the crazy homes-selling-in-1-hour-for-the-even-more-crazier-prices market.<br />
<a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/real-estate.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/real-estate.jpg?w=150&h=150" alt="" title="real estate" width="150" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-708" /></a><br />
.</p>
<p>My clients would always be asking me, “Annette, how can these people be listing their homes for such ridiculous prices, and then have somebody crazy enough to buy it?” My answer was simple:</p>
<p><em>“Each time a home is sold, the buyers are placing value, and they are setting the value of that home and the ones in the area. They believe that the 2 mil they’re paying for this home IS valuable.”</em></p>
<p>People will place value on what they find important, and here are a few more examples from my experience:</p>
<p>•	The county one lives in. There are people who live in L.A. County, right? But perish the thought of saying so. They actually live in the city of Whittier in L.A. County. But you ask them where they live and they’ll immediately say “Oh we live in Friendly Hills.” This is the name of a higher income bracket neighborhood in Whittier, within L.A. County.</p>
<p>•	The car one drives. “I drive a Mercedes, BMW, Lexus,” etc.</p>
<p>•	The school one’s kids go to. “Oh my kids graduated from USC,” versus, “they graduated from college.”</p>
<p>•	The labels of clothes one wears. “I got my True Religions from Neiman Marcus-do they match my Jimmy Choos?”</p>
<p>•	A trophy case. “My daughter is a chip off the old blockMedaled in all sports this year.”.<a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/trophy-case1.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/trophy-case1.jpg?w=150&h=113" alt="" title="trophy-case" width="150" height="113" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-710" /></a> </p>
<p>•	A wet bar filled with vintage bottles of cognac, premium port wine and limited edition bottles.</p>
<p>•	The comparisons of the size of the diamond on one’s finger.</p>
<p>•	Even the kind of mafia boss you are on Facebook’s Mafia Wars.</p>
<p>Well I’m sure you all know where I place my value- -in myself, my health and the encouraged health of others. </p>
<p>And in creating physical health, generally soon-to-follow is a balance of mental health and spiritual health.</p>
<p>It’s a shared win-win. </p>
<p>We all place value somewhere and want to find value in everything we do so, I’m gonna load you up on the value here.</p>
<p>The New Year is about here and so will be the New Year’s Resolutions to get back to working out, “getting in shape,” and finding a guilt-free New Year’s accomplishment.</p>
<p>I’d like to see that for you as well. There’s nothing like the smile of a person who finds freedom after accomplishing what was once feared. </p>
<p>It’s beyond electric.</p>
<p>In the New Year I will be offering small group training. </p>
<p>This will be 90% of my profession.</p>
<p>1-on-1 training will take, for lack of a better word, the back seat.</p>
<p>Why?</p>
<p>Okay, I’ll give you the 100% honest- -that’s the first unit of value I bring: honesty.</p>
<p>If you had the choice: </p>
<p>1.	Would you rather work for minimum wage or 1,000,000,000 per year?</p>
<p>2.	Would you rather share the most exciting and life-changing stuff with just one person at a time or a larger group of people?<br />
(And yes, the 1st two are equal in importance to me)</p>
<p>3.	Would you rather have a hard-pressed, stressful weekend getaway because you “owe it” to the family or a 15-day relaxing vacation?</p>
<p>4.	Would you rather have 1 child excel or have ALL your children excel?</p>
<p>5.	Would you rather live in stress or relief?</p>
<p>If ya don’t get it yet, training 1-on-1 although fruitful, the quality of my life suffers along with my health. </p>
<p>And that’s where I draw the line.<a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/draw-the-line.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/draw-the-line.jpg?w=100&h=150" alt="" title="draw the line" width="100" height="150" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-711" /></a><br />

Working 15-hour days, 1 client at a time? Ummm, no.</p>
<p>I’d much rather be with a small group, for all the above reasons and many more awesome reasons I carry.</p>
<p><em>“So why don’t you just do a bootcamp, Annette?”  </em>Good question-</p>
<p>For me bootcamps, although can be extremely lucrative, have a different level of integrity in the safety of the people. </p>
<p>In bootcamps there are a ton of people doing stuff, and I wouldn’t be able to keep my eye on everybody. </p>
<p>It’s important to me that exercise is getting done, but for the investment, no matter how big or small, the importance is getting it done well is where the gold is.</p>
<p>People jump into bootcamps with an intense vigor and excitement….and many with pre-existing injuries, or are extremely deconditioned, but come anyway due to the New Year’s resolution, then bust a gut.<br />

And then they’re benched again, but now in pain.<a href="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/injury.jpg"><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/injury.jpg?w=150&h=112" alt="" title="injury" width="150" height="112" class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-712" /></a><br />

<p>But I suppose there is a good side- -I inherit clients from the bootcamps. After hearing about me they come and we train.</p>
<p>We get them back to 100%. They are no longer benched feeling the physical pain or the emotional pain of not being able to move or that they’re not part of what made them feel as empowered as they wanted to be.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I was training a client yesterday, Sunday, (yeah I KNOW, out of my bed on a Sunday-my ONE day of rest where the most effort I put out is to get up and go pee, eat some more, and lean over to change the movie in my laptop), and I was thinking,</p>
<p>&#8220;Why am I here? Why am I doing this? And WHY am I actually &#8216;working out&#8217; with this client? My body is sore, I could be taking a hot bath (nah-too much work to fill up the tub!), I really need to foam roll and stretch, hmmm, I could be watchin a movie in bed while eating FRITOS! And instead I&#8217;m sweatin buckets while coaching a client AND doing the work side-by-side in a</p>
<p>• Run the bleachers<br />
• Drop and give me 50 power pushups<br />
• Stay down here and hang out in a 2-minute hover on the elbows<br />
• Move onto 25 jump squats<br />
• Jog 1 lap around the stadium<br />
• Repeat</p>
<p>&#8230;..on a SUNDAY?!*#@?&#8221;</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s why&#8211;because I can.</p>
<p>I thought I&#8217;d put my money where my mouth is, and DO what I encourage my classes &amp; clients to do, &#8220;get uncomfortable.&#8221; It’s time to put some hustle behind this muscle.</p>
<p><em>&#8220;Your body is MADE to do this kind of stuff, you&#8217;re fortunate to have the gene pool you have and you really have NO idea what you&#8217;ve got RIGHT HERE. You are whole, you have both legs and both arms-everything else can be worked with. I know how your body works, I know what will work for you, I can SEE it, all you need is a mirror, and look in it. Then look deeper-THAT&#8217;S the real you. Nothing new happens if nothing new is attempted. It doesn&#8217;t matter how good YOU think you&#8217;re doing, but it DOES matter that you finish what you start. Everybody can quit. What defines you is what you choose to create when the going gets tough. You gonna listen to the negative comments people will have or pursue your dreams and find the support where it serves you? You going to follow a particular path just because it’s always been that way or are you gonna change the story and change the direction of your pursuit?&#8221;</em></p>
<p>This is what I tell my classes ALL THE TIME while I see their struggle. They choose to turn the fear and struggle into a calm with themselves and this lights a fire to continue. They create new beliefs in themselves-in just an hour!</p>
<p>So I decided it was time to turn me on me!</p>
<p>I mean really, am I gonna trip and say &#8220;I can&#8217;t,&#8221; when miss Sarah Reinertsen is a one-legged triathlete? Psssh, who am &#8216;I&#8217; to say &#8220;I can&#8217;t?&#8221; I will create and find the way to keep myself trying to catch up to HER!!<img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/sarah.jpg?w=300&h=300" alt="OUT15276117" title="OUT15276117" width="300" height="300" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-550" /></p>
<p>This is why the Sunday client. I can step out and create a new platform of drive. I can create a new story. I can strive for greatness. I can jump into another level of mental toughness.</p>
<p>And I can create another &#8220;Sunday,&#8221; and do it on another day.</p>
<p>No, working on Sunday, my only day off, will not remain a constant, but it WILL spike other things. What things? Who knows, but difference creates difference, so I&#8217;m gonna head for that difference and keep moving ahead.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m calling you to the same kind of action.</p>
<p>Get uncomfortable.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;ve ever wished that you were more motivated to experience life at your full potential then this is for you.</p>
<p>Most of us set goals and work hard only to find our motivation fizzle out after a couple of weeks. But there are little tricks that will help you harness the power of your mind and propel you toward achieving your goal.</p>
<p>The Two Motivators</p>
<p>When you boil it down, you&#8217;re motivated by two simple things:<img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/fear-of-failure1.jpg?w=300&h=231" alt="Fear of failure" title="Fear of failure" width="300" height="231" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-388" /></p>
<p>   1. To avoid pain (fear of failure)<br />
   2. To gain pleasure (promise of reward)</p>
<p>You are naturally geared toward one of these motivators. To figure out which, think of the last time you accomplished a task and then ask yourself the following: While doing the task were you thinking about what would happen if you failed to finish, or were you thinking about what you would gain when you finished?</p>
<p><strong>Take note as to which motivator works for you &#8211; fear of failure, or promise of reward.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Set Your Goal:</strong> The first step towards unstoppable motivation is to determine your goal. You know you&#8217;re unhappy with your body, but what exactly do you want to change? Why is it important to you?</p>
<p>Perhaps you can relate to one of the following goals:</p>
<p>    * You need to lose weight for your health. Your doctor scared you straight or maybe you&#8217;ve had a recent health problem that landed you in the hospital. Your goal is to move away from the pain of sickness.<br />
    * You want to look and feel incredible. You&#8217;ve always wanted to feel vibrant and attractive. The idea of having more energy really excites you. Your goal is to move toward the pleasure and reward of a fit body.<br />
    * You&#8217;re worried about your kids. They don&#8217;t eat enough vegetables, they drink more soda pop than water and they play video games constantly. You have decided to model a healthier lifestyle and to encourage your kids to participate. Your goal is to move away from the risks of a sedentary lifestyle and to propel your kids toward a healthy future.</p>
<p><strong>Train Your Mind for Weight Loss:</strong><img src="http://trainerannette.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/train-the-brain.jpg?w=300&h=211" alt="Train the brain" title="Train the brain" width="300" height="211" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-384" /></p>
<p>With your clear and important goal in mind, let&#8217;s take a few minutes to train your mind to achieve it. You know that weight loss comes as a result of eating right and regular challenging exercise, so let&#8217;s use your mind to conquer both.</p>
<p><strong>Eating Right:</strong> Use this exercise to distance yourself from the self-sabotaging foods you really wish you didn&#8217;t eat, and to naturally begin selecting healthy foods.</p>
<p>Take a moment to review your current eating habits. Identify the foods that you should stop eating (hint: sweets, anything fried, refined carbohydrates, sugary drinks). Identify the worst food that you eat regularly but know you shouldn&#8217;t.</p>
<p>Now imagine the healthy foods that you should eat (hint: vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean protein). Identify the healthiest food that you know you should eat regularly.</p>
<p>Now with the image of these two foods in mind, find a quiet place and do the following exercise (seriously this stuff works):</p>
<p>    * Draw up the image of your unhealthy food item. This image will likely be quite vivid, with smell, taste and bright color. In your mind, fade this picture to black and white and distance the image until it is dull, fuzzy and remote.<br />
    * Draw up the image of your healthy food item. This image will likely be fuzzy and faded. In your mind, bring this picture to life with smell, taste, sound and bright color.</p>
<p><strong>Regular Exercise:</strong> This technique can be applied in a way that encourages you to crave exercise rather than avoid it.</p>
<p>Take a moment to imagine how you feel after a great workout (notice the emphasis on the word after). Remember the physical satisfaction as well as the sweet feeling of accomplishment.</p>
<p>Now bring to your mind the aspects of exercise that you dislike. What is your biggest reason for avoiding exercise? Are you too tired? Do you not have enough time? Is physical exertion too much of a hassle? Pinpoint your greatest complaint about exercise.</p>
<p>Now with the image of these two aspects of exercise in mind, find a quiet place and do the following exercise:</p>
<p>    * Draw up the image of your exercise complaint. The image is likely to be clear and accompanied by the sounds, smells and sensations. In your mind, fade this picture to black and white and distance the image until it is dull, fuzzy and remote.<br />
    * Draw up the image of the wonderful feeling you have after accomplishing a great workout. Magnify this image in your mind. Fixate on how you feel physically, mentally and emotionally. View the experience in bright colors and add a sound track of inspirational music.</p>
<p>Why It Works</p>
<p>If this was your first experience with training your mind (also called Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP) it may have felt a little odd. Many of the world&#8217;s top achievers regularly use techniques like these to accomplish astounding goals.</p>
<p>The techniques above work because they train your mind to bring your behavior in line with your values. Think about it, you value health, you desire to be fit and attractive and you want to instill healthy habits in your kids.</p>
<p><strong>These techniques encourage you to avoid self-sabotage and to make choices that line up with what you truly value. </strong></p>

<p>    * Imagine yourself at 90 years old, sitting in a rocking chair and looking back over your life.<br />
    * Imagine that you never accomplished the goals that are important to you. Feel the pain of loss and regret.<br />
    * Now imagine that you did accomplish these important goals. Feel the pleasure of success and accomplishment.</p>
<p>Which scenario do you want to experience when you are 90?</p>
<p>Start on the easy side where you won&#8217;t have to think, where 99% is already planned and in place for you. Yes, this is an encouragement for you to step beyond the fear and gain success. And you can simply because&#8230;&#8230;.you made that agreement with yourself and are choosing what you truly value, you.</p>

I have been to those other gyms and those trainers really don’t care what they do with me.
